Josh asked:

We [intergalacticboobies.com] are currently providing free blogs, and wish to start providing e-mail accounts. We are running cPanel, and want to add a feature to automatically create an e-mail account when a user choses a username and password. We are using the roundmail system for users to check their mail with. We have searched google, and found a few scripts which provded useless.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have read that cPanel uses OpenSSL, or some sort of SSL in their control panel. To set this up, would it be free? And if so, how would I go about setting this up? I’m sure that there is a tutorial somewhere out on the web, I just need directed to it.

Thanks.

It’d be great if someone could chat online with me right now and walk me through this if you have a few minutes…
Thank you :)

I want to start using PHP and mySQL to help me with my work. Does anyone know if and how I can set up somewhere locally on my computer or something where i can test my pages and database as if it were live on a web server?

Peter asked:

Because in previous version the default encoding in mysql server is latin1 and not many remember to change it. So utf8 characters are saved in latin1 encoding. But what does this actually mean?

For example, some utf8 characters , which are not available in latin1, are 3-4 bytes long.

What binary data do they become after encoding them in latin1?

Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the link. But the link points to my own question.

I’ve got a form setup which accepts text via a textfield, here the user can type whatever and insert spacing and new paragraphs. The text and whatever formatting is present is saved correctly to the MySQL database, but when displaying it via PHP it displays everything on a single line.

Is there a way around this to display it as it was originally entered?

I’ve got a web host that uses the cpanel control panel (http://cpanel.net/index.html) on a unix platform.

The error log is set up to report the most recent 300 errors, but many of the errors I get have to do with IP addresses I’ve blocked from my system (spam bots). I’d like to ignore these errors and only track those that are useful to me.

Is it possible to configure what errors get reported by cpanel?

Most places you just add /cpanel/ at the end of the domain name, for some reason this is not working!
