As per the title. I’m looking for a reliable web host that lets you pay month by month. It should also be of a good name (so preferably one of the big boys) and offer cpanel 10 or so. I can’t find any dependable hosts that have these three elements. Thanks for your suggestions.

I’ve looked around on the web but I figured just to safe, I would ask someone who has knowledge about the details of MySQL and Apache.

I’ve used both before but I can’t seem to pick out the difference other then MySQL has somewhat of a GUI base to it via web browser for easy editing.

(Please, just don’t give me links, but explain a few difference between them. Though the links are welcome nonetheless, it won’t earn you any points just posting them.)

When looking for a VPS solution, we first concern is to chose which platform. VPS are usually powered by either plesk control panel or cpanel with whm control panel. If you are a cpanel supporter, then its adviced to stick with cpanel with whm. In another way round if you are plesk control panel geek, then stay with it.

Cpanel with WHM are meant for linux or unix server only, and not supporting windows ASP. If you are looking forward to have asp or asp .net, then you will need plesk control panel with windows support. Its important to choose the right one at this very early moment.

And good thing about VPS is that you can have physical desktop access and even accessing the system root folder and install your own software. Commonly VPS server independent reboot, and will not effecting other vps account that sharing the server. By this vps server uptime can be up to 99.99% compare to 99.9% for shared hosting environment.

Another gold advantage is that VPS solution, either its plesk or whm, they allow you to resell hosting plan. Yes, you can create your own hosting package, and sell off some of your unused hosting space and bandwidth, and earn some profit from there as well. Nice features to have.

So next time when you bump to vps solution with cpanel, whm, plesk control panel, windows hosting or linux hosting… you will know what you are facing and definitely you will chose the right one. If you need a good vps solution I will hightly recommending hostican vps and startlogic vps. Read full details review at hosticanreview.org and startlogicreview.org respectively.

I am having trouble getting the ball rolling here. The idea is that I would like to put mySQL commands into the command line, building a database on my server- fairly straightforward.

I am trying to get cronjobs to run a script every 10 minutes but it just wont work could someone run through the setup process and things like permission settings also do I need the full path or will “../cron/10min.php” work?

Thanks
How can you say it won’t work? it is on a webserver just it is not in a public directory so people cannot abuse it. I’ve used cronjobs on other sites that didn’t use cpanel and they worked fine?

I know how pull data from the database but I have stored within the a mysql field some text data. Within that that text I have put in some php variables. The problem is that when the browser renders the data that pulled from my sql, the variable stays as $user for example rather than changing to what I needed to. Is there any way to have the server process the php code stored within the mysql database?

A working knowledge of computer language is something that most people cannot grasp. Just tell them what they need to know in order to do a Google search or check their email and they will generally be happy. But there are a lot of intricacies that are involved in a simple search on the Internet or within a computer’s system for that matter. One of the main languages used in this science is called MySQL, which is a system used for data base management. The actual scientific language is simply SQL, which stands for “structured query language.” But MySQL is an actual brand of database that uses this language to create better database servers. The process of MySQL development requires a strong knowledge of computer systems and the language that they use.

The idea of MySQL development, which is pronounced just as each letter sounds individually, is to give the average computer user the ability to ask questions of a database and retrieve answers for those questions. This system not only allows us to ask the questions, but it is also vital in the creation of these databases. Each database is, in essence, a collection of tables. These tables are merely a list of records. Think of them as a weight chart when you are on a diet. You might keep track of your progress on a table. One column of the table may be marked “Date” and then the second column might be marked “Weight.” With this tool, you can keep track of how much you weighed on any given day. Businesses might use more complicated tables to keep track of payroll and employees. Simply stated, the rows in a database’s table contain stored data while the columns contain the particular kind of info that is stored. This is the basic principle behind MySQL development. Information is gathered into tables in order to be organized.

In addition to being a collection of tables, a database is basically information that fits into logical categories. This system operates on a relational database rather than a flat database system. The reason for this is because the relational database system operates much like the human mind does when it is thinking. The categories are organized by rows and columns so that different parts of information can be used for different tables. The actual MySQL brand specializes in creating databases for use by their customers on their individual websites. This type of computer language is know for its reliability and user-friendliness, although you need to have more than a basic knowledge of computers in order to understand the terminology and mechanics of MySQL development. It has been used in over ten million applications and websites and it is continually growing and improving. It also has several new security features.

Many companies specialize in MySQL development for their clients. Without this technology, search engines and, for that matter the entire Internet would be utterly useless. Its ability to string words together for purposes of creating a searchable query make companies like Google and Yahoo do what they do best; allow the user to search for information on the world wide web. Unless the novelty and usefulness of the Internet wear off, people who specialize in MySQL development will continue to have a lucrative job in the computer language and programming industry.
